COVID-19 Safety Protocols

COVID-19 Safety Protocols

Regulations:

  • I will be adhering to the Washington State Department of Health, OSHA, and CDC guidelines during the pandemic. Although the Washington State Department of Health no longer requires masks in healthcare facilities, their infection prevention and control guidance continue to recommend masks for patients and healthcare providers.

  • KN95 and N95 face masks are more protective than a surgical or cloth mask and they are recommended for prolonged close contact.

  • For the safety of other patients and staff, you must wear a KN95 or N95 face mask before entering the studio. One will be provided for you if you do not have one. It must be worn over your nose and mouth throughout the entire session.

COVID-19 Symptoms:

  • If there is an onset of COVID-19 or cold/flu symptoms right before your appointment, it is your responsibility to reach out to me by phone to cancel your appointment and reschedule. I will waive the 24-hour notice cancellation fee in these cases.

  • If you contract COVID-19 or have been exposed to someone that has, you will need to postpone treatment for at least 14 days before returning for in-person visits. Please ensure you have no symptoms and a negative COVID-19 test result before your next session.

  • If I contract COVID-19 or have been exposed to someone that has, I will contact you directly to cancel and reschedule the appointment as soon as possible. I will follow the same guidelines that I require of you.

  • I trust and appreciate your honesty during these challenging times. I hope that we can respect each other’s comfort levels and safety as we reopen. We all have to work together to keep the community safe.

Check-in and Arrival:

  • At check-in, please knock on my door at Suite 2 and I will meet you there to give you a KN95 mask if you do not have one. Please wear the mask before you enter the studio.

  • It is important for me that we are both wearing the mask properly throughout the duration of our time together. Mask will be worn over the mouth and nose the entire time you are in the treatment space. You may remove your mask briefly if you need to drink water or blow your nose. Please sanitize your hands afterwards.

  • In the waiting room, I will screen each person to check for temperature, oxygen saturation, pulse rate, and breathing. I will ask about COVID-19 exposure and cold/flu symptoms. If you bring a companion with you, please notify me before your appointment. They will need to complete a COVID-19 release form and also be screened and asked about COVID-19 questions before they enter the studio. If possible, come alone or limit to one companion.

  • Please bring your own bottled water to the session. There is purified water provided in the bathroom but it is a limited supply. Also, consider bringing a snack to keep in your car for before and after the session.

Cleaning and Disinfecting:

  • All linens and blankets are cleaned, stored tightly, and fresh for each client.

  • All spaces, hard surfaces, doorknobs, bathroom, chairs, table, and equipment inside the studio are cleaned and then disinfected after each client with a hospital-grade and EPA-approved solution that kills COVID-19.

  • I am spacing my appointment times so there is ample time in between for opening doors and windows to allow fresh air to circulate. I have a door on each end of the studio and big windows that I can open for cross-breeze. I have my own bathroom and waiting area. There is no shared HVAC system with the other suites in the building, and my entrance opens to the outside, as opposed to a shared hallway with others.

  • During your visit, I will be running a high-end medical-grade HEPA Air Purifier. This will allow the exhaled particles (the ones that get through the sides of the mask) to be filtered out constantly and not allowed to build up in the ambient air and then be inhaled. This makes being in closer contact much safer. COVID-19 spreads easily when masks are not worn, people are inside in close proximity for extended periods of time, and with poor ventilation.
